Fresca Alphabet Orange Quilted Initial Travel Jewellery Box

Our latest alphabet range, an iconic part of OB’s homeware collection, draws on patchwork, glazing and quilting techniques across make up bags, ceramics, and tableware. ’I was excited to apply these techniques to smaller fabric pieces, re-imagining the look for an updated look and feel,’ says Home & Gift Designer, Lauren Baxter. ’The ceramic pieces were designed using a rainbow speckle glaze and contrasting lettering.’

The design process began with exploration of colour palettes, font styles and techniques, from embroidery and beading to rainbow speckles, wax resist and contrasting glaze colours. ‘We decided to focus our design route on the patchwork style with a font designed in our creative studios,’ explains Lauren. ’We had an existing library of letters formed of squares and triangles, which we used as a starting point.’ The collection is vibrant and playful, using design-led details and feel-good colour.
